ACRO Workshop Fall 2026
8 yrs - 14 yrs
This one day workshop will introduce dancers to the fundamentals of ACRO. Dancers will build strength, flexibility, and confidence while learning foundational skills like cartwheels, round-offs, backbends, rolls, handstands, inversions, and leg holds. Dancers, who are ahle to master the basics can refine their technique, and work on front and back walkovers, such as handsprings and aerials. Saturday 10am-2pm /Cayla
Adult/Teen Dance Classes
13 yrs - 68 yrs
Dovetail offers adult classes in ballet, tap , musical theatre and WERQ Fitness. We have severl levels to fit your specific needs. Dovetial doenst just give a class, we t4each. We know that adults coming from a dance background want to improve thir skills and beginners need a strong foundtion so that they can keep growing in their love of dance. We beleive it's importnt to give adults a strong tecnhical basis while also finding. community.
Ballet
5 yrs - 15 yrs
Ages (5-15) Levels: Pre Ballet 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Pre-Pointe, Pointe Some classes are required to meet twice a week. Dress Code: leotard, pink tights and ballet shoes are required. Boys must wear a white shirt, black tights, leggings or black shorts, and ballet shoes. Hair should be pulled into a tight bun.
Competition
7 yrs - 15 yrs
Ages: Varies by placement Teams: (Audition Required) Debut TeamDreamers TeamDynamic TeamDiamond TeamCommitment: Weekly rehearsals are required. Some teams may rehearse twice per week depending on placement and performance schedule.
Competition Prep

Competition Prep is for those dancers on The Doves Competitive Dance Company. PREP A is for those in Dreamers and Debut companies.
Contemporary
7 yrs - 15 yrs
Ages: 7-15 Levels: Ballet/Contemporary Combo (ages 7-8)Contemporary 1Contemporary 2Contemporary 3Prerequisite: Students enrolled in Contemporary 1, 2, or 3 must also be enrolled in a ballet class. Dress Code: Fitted dancewear is required. Dancers may wear a leotard, fitted top, leggings, shorts, or dance pants. Bare feet are preferred unless otherwise instructed by the teacher. Hair should be secured away from the face.
Doves Auditions
8 yrs - 16 yrs
Come try out to be a DOVE! The Doves are our competition team. the audition will be a two hour class hwere students will demonstrate their technical abilities as well as their choreogrpahy.
Dovetail Dance Intensive
10 yrs - 16 yrs
Dovetail's dance intensive will feature prominant Chicago dancers and choreogrpahers working with studetns in the int/adv levels of dance. Each day students will have technqueis classes, conidtion and choreogrphy. The Intensive will culminate with a final showing on Friday at 1:30pm. Monday-Firday 10am-2pm Int/Adv Dancers
Hip Hop

Ages: 5-15 Levels: Pre Hip Hop (ages 5-6)Hip Hop 1Hip Hop 2Hip Hop 3 Dress Code: Comfortable athletic clothing that allows for movement. Clean sneakers designated for studio use are required. Hair should be secured away from the face.

Musical Theater

Pre-School Dance
2 yrs - 4 yrs
Dovetail offers dance classes that are age and developmetally approprite for kids ages 2.5 - 4 years old. These classes, Tiny Dance and Tiny Tots are child only classes and are a great way for kids to get a tset of dance, structure and fun.
Professional Classes
15 yrs - 68 yrs
These classes are for the int/adv dancers and those pursuing a carreer in dance. Dancers must have a high level of experience for these classes. These are drop in classes and are on-going.
Summer Camps
5 yrs - 12 yrs
Dovetail host a vairety of summer camps that are either 1 or 2 week camps. Some camps are more intensive musical theatre camps and others are themed but are more your traditonal day camp. Our camps are for kids ages 5-12 years old.
Tricks and Turns
7 yrs - 15 yrs
Ages: Varies by placement Levels: Tricks & Turns 1Tricks & Turns 2Tricks & Turns 3Prerequisite: Enrollment in a Youth Ballet class is required.
